Filmmaker Magazine!! They say watch Missing Pieces (2012 Feature Film) this weekend, so feel free to take their advice!
“Here’s a good way to get the weekend started: download or stream for free the wonderfully original and inventive Missing Pieces… Both Filmmaker‘s associate editor Dan Schoenbrun & I are big fans of this movie…Missing Pieces has much of the ambition & canny creativity of Christopher Nolan’s early works such as Following & Memento, though it has more heart than those movies… One note of caution: the first 20 or so minutes of the film are a little slow and abstract, but stick with & you’ll reap the rewards!”

Dear Tumblr Friends,
My name is Kenton, and I’m writing as a movie lover asking for help.
Our team made a movie called Missing Pieces. It took almost five years, 600 volunteers, and 137,000 man hours to make. We’re giving it away 100% FREE… But nobody cares… And maybe they shouldn’t… But what do YOU think?
Is it worth sharing?
We’d like it to represent what can happen when a bunch of naive, hopeful people get together and CREATE. We wanted to forget the negative voice of the world and chase what we believe.
Can movies like this exist? Will they be watched, or will mega-buck remakes reign supreme?
We don’t have money for marketing, and it’s time to call it quits. We’d like to make more films but are spending most of our time working day-jobs to make ends meet. And, sure- that’s the way of the world… but wouldn’t it be neat if we banned together to support the idea of creativity and community? The internet’s done much bigger things.
If you’d like to help…
With love,
Kenton Bartlett
P.S. Be happy! Thanks for reading :)

Kenton Bartlett is the director of the film Missing Pieces which has its Arizona Premiere on Saturday Sept. 22nd 4pm at The Screening Room. We asked him a few questions about his film, and filmmaking.
AZUFF: Tell us a little bit about Missing pieces, and how did you come up with the idea?

# 9 - MISSING PIECES
I didn’t know the world needed another Terrence Malick but it does and his name is Kenton Bartlett. What a case of a young filmmaker (19 when he started this) going out into the world for, like, 500-something days in a quest to make his film. (See the great featurette on YouTube.) Visually stunning. Edited brilliantly. Kudos to DP Jonathan Arturo and editor (and part-time one man band) Bartlett. This is not a film that appears easy to edit. The non-linear storyline, however, is rendered almost effortless to follow in Bartlett’s skilled hands. Lovely performances all around especially from Mark Boone Junior and the kidnapped young man, Myles Gregory Webb. This trailer is pretty killer and pretty accurate. It got me to the theater and I’m glad it did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8UoSZUKE0A.
